Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) provides the following services for TSX:
Administering and enforcing the Universal Market Integrity Rules (UMIR), including monitoring and reviewing trade desk procedures of persons accessing the TSX trading system as applicable.
Providing guidance on UMIR's application.
Imposing and lifting trading halts or delays relating to market integrity and timely disclosure matters and coordinating halts or delays with other marketplaces.
Administering TSX's front-line timely disclosure requirements and referring potential breaches to TSX for enforcement.
Reviewing direct market access practices of Participating Organizations
Investigating and enforcing suspected breaches of other TSX requirements, as requested by TSX and agreed by IIROC from time to time.
TSX administers all other Exchange requirements, which include the following functions:
review of applications to become a Participating Organization;
review of applications to become a listed issuer;
review of applications for remote trader access;
review of applications for approved trader status;
business-related trading halts and suspensions;
administration of TSX-specific market quality rules and policies;
administration of corporate finance-related rules and policies;
development and enforcement of TSX timely disclosure requirements;
administration of TSX suitability standards for officers, directors and other insiders;
administration of rules and policies for registered traders on TSX.
